As I wrote here:http://www.endogynserver.com/cgi-bin/210/cutecast.pl?session=Wtn4YkmGODKiQsKXpEhetdplBH&forum=2&thread=275 In short: a surgeon sees an improvement of the adhesion score as a success, whereas the patient often sees an improvement of symptoms or a complete disappearance of symptoms as a success! After surgery some adhesions may return, the surgeon might measure the reduction of adhesions as an improvement while the patient says s(h)e has pain and therefore concludes the adhesions are back! In some cases there may be a huge improvement of adhesions (by 99%), but some small adhesions (see picture below) might have formed somewhere and cause extreme pain. Small adhesions can even cause bowel obstructions (briden ileus)! Here you see how important it is to have the back-door opportunity of a 3rd-look laparoscopy. An minimal adhesion has formed to the abdominal wall. After we take this adhesion down, the patient might become pain free and the risk of adhesion reformation at this small amount of filmy adhesions is extremely low. And here are all the other surgical areas of our gasless adhesiolysis with Spraygel on this patient 4 months ago: beautifully healed peritoneum with small scar tissue formation (white)... but no adhesions ... a very good result, compared to the initial adhesions status. -------------------- Daniel Kruschinski, MD www.endogyn.net © by EndoGyn Ltd.

I think it is very important for any of your past patients to understand this possiblity and realize just how important it is that a 3rd look surgery be done by you. It is important for your research in order to follow up with long term data. It is also the most important for the patient to follow up with the same Doctor who was inside last and has a better understanding of their past surgery than any other professional could gain from a surgical report. It is obvious that some adhesion growth is going to reoccur no matter how good the surgeon is that performs the lysis of adhesions. If you are a patient reading this and wondering why after the surgery to remove all adhesions is needing to be repeated, put it in another perspective. All your adhesions were probably removed during your surgery. But Dr. Kruschinski nor any other Surgeon yet has not been able to stop the regrowth of adhesions, only to slow it down. The exception here is that Dr. Kruschinski has said he will always be their for you if they returns. If given the opportunity to remove the regrowth as it happens eventually the proccess willl be slowed down and hopefully the pateint will find some relieve. This is what I was told as a new patient of Dr. Kruschinski's. Although I admire Dr. Kruschinski very much for all that he has done for me and others, he is not a deity or my God and did not promise a miracle cure. Unfortunately, I have not found anyone that has come up with a cure yet. Dr. Kruschinski is able to offer the most advanced help available in the world so that is why if and when I ever need a follow up surgery I will return to Dr. Kruschinski. He is still my best option to a pain free life. --------------------

Just wondering, I too do not have to have more surgery. I am better, but still have pain, but was told too early for me. If the pain perisist after 3 month, you can come in between the next 3 month, the cost is 4500 Euro outpatient and 5500 Euro inpatient. After 6 the period of month the cost is 6500 Euro outpatient and 7500 Euro inpatient. The stay is 10 days and there is no second-look after this procedure. Regarding the "Third Look", what is the reason that the price is 2000 Euros higher if the "Third Look Surgery" occurs more than six months after the "First/Second look?" Thanks, Paula

Its a virtual date and its to encourrage those ones who continue to have pain after 3 months to have a 3rd loook, which could resolve the sítuation (see above).
